wing removal on A series

Postby sven » Sun Nov 14, 2010 12:06 am

We are restoring our A series, and needs to remove the wings... These are welded together with the cab in three parts. Does anyone know how to remove them in a way which makes it possible to mount them again after repairing them?

Are they spot welded?
(my A/series nose is made of polyester)

You can get a spot weld drill and drill the spot welds out.

(See google or Youtube)

Yes they are spotwelded, but the problem is that the spotwelds are in places where I dont have room for the drill :?

i know its a bit late but if the metal you are trying to split is all solid then i have a very slim chisel for doing such a job as this if you cant get in with a spot weld remover drill bit
ask about one at a proper car tool supplier, it looks like two rulers with a chiseled end

Thanks for the tip:)

but the lower piece of the wing is allready off.. used the grinder with an extra thin disc... have to replace the edge up there anyway

but will look out for a thin chisel of that kind:)
