A0609 Tipper, free to collector

Postby Stuart T » Sat Aug 01, 2015 12:03 am

First things first, I'm new to this forum so please excuse my ignorance.

I have a M plate ('73 i think?) A0609 tipper that needs a new home. It is in poor condition but may be of interest as a parts vehicle or for restoration. It still has it's original 6 cylinder York Diesel but it hasn't run for some time. The cab has extensive rot in the floor and the scuttle. The chassis looks usable and the tipper body looks salvageable. To the best of my knowledge it is complete (except for the parts of the cab which have rotted away!!). If my memory serves me correctly everything worked when it was parked up which I think was probably about 10 years ago!

Obviously the vehicle cannot be driven and will have to be transported. It is located near Portishead, not far from Bristol.

Please note that I am not familiar with these vehicles so it would probably be best if anyone who is interested comes to have a look but if there is any more info or anything specific you would like to know please just ask and I'll do my best to let you know. I can send pics if needed.

The vehicle is free to collector because it would be a shame to cut it up as it may be useful for parts or restoration but if there are no takers unfortunately it will have to go.

FredTransit,

Have tried to PM you, hope it worked. I will call you tomorrow if that's OK?

If you can PM me with your email I can send you some pictures including one of the ID plate if that helps?

Regards,
Stuart.
