Hi Sven

I have bean told that chasis numbers are 17 digits numbers and letters, the only number i can find is stamped into the bracket that the front shockers are fastened to and it is 17 digits with ford stamped next to it.
Some tech guy I have bean dealing with recons this is a part number, But the same number is stamped on the left and right bracket and the brackets are different so you would expect the numbers to be different.
If you get chance sven have a look on yours the number is hidden behind the front shockers you can see it but you have to undo the top shocker bolt in order to read it, I wonder if it matches your vin plate.

Front right hand side is the industry standard in the uk for stamping chasis numbers but this is the only number I can find.

the shocktowers are the same from side to side on mine... and the number is a part number, starts with 74 HF or something... this is the part number for the tower

seems like the only place the win number exsists is on the VIN plate in the drivers side step...

cant find anything else in the shop manual, and nothing on my chassis either

I'll have a look at my old heap and in my workshop manual this week, but I think the numbers are on the aluminium plate LH door step only
I've just spent every working hour of last week rebuilding the cab of mine bit by bit.
It's a windscreen chassis, and so it has always leaked like a good 'un.
After nearly 30 years of standing outside, the cab is so shot that it is sagging into itself. The windscreen is starting to pop out, and the doors either won't close or pop open depending on how its parked, although the work this week seems to be improving things.
I've just got the nod from a bloke up the road to hack what I need out of an old mk2 transit of his, hopefully to graft the windscreen surround and door pillars into my old wreck.
I've been living in and around this thing for 7 or 8 years now and have been all over it, and done stuff with A's for about 20 years, so if there's any information I can help with feel free to ask

Hello,

On the papers of my car is written:

The number is on the left chassis 'beam' between frontaxle and second springholder(mount).
I didn't seen it for myself jet, but a mechanic had seen the number somewhere.

Mine starts with: BCLDSR9.... (and followed by 4 other numbers)
