Hi all.
I'm Joe and my wife Pam and I have just bought a 2005 VJ model 5-speed 115-350 campervan/motorhome with a Duratorq DI 2.4l turbo diesel with intercooler.
Trying to learn what I can about the van and the engine. It's done 224000km now - 2200 by me and Pam over the past 3 days bringing it home....
It went extremely well, with a little 'hitch' of the 'glowplug' warning light coming on flashing on two of those days. Both times it was on very long hills on full power at 110km/hr. So I figure something was heating up beyond its limits. Switching the engine off with the clutch pushed and starting it up again cancelled the fault and off it went again as if nothing had happened. (I have a turbo Honda motorcycle which used to have a similar issue when the wastegate valve got sticky. Switching the ignition off and on again reset that fault there - this is why I tried that option in the first place).
Now I'm going to look for a workshop manual to see if I can find any data ports to read the faults it logged and figure out what I need to do to fix them.
