I got a 1987 mk3 Westfalia before the summer and cruised the Algarve off grid. I had driven Transits a lot in the nineties, as a touring musician around Portugal and fell in love with them. Soon after I got her I found this forum and was really impressed with the amount of knowledge and dedication shown here. I hope I can get good advise on how to maintain her and do the occasional mod. She had the engine swaped for a banana one and a turbo fitted by the previous owner. While she's agile enough for our lazy strolls through the countryside, I always have to keep an eye on the temperature gauge, this summer was hot around here and she doesn't like it!
