Hi there. I just registered to get in touch with people having Ford Transit and knowing about technical details.
Here in Germany you find communities for vintage cars or communities for camper vans but all about youngtimer cars like my MK7 is very hard to find.

So I remembered that I've learned English years ago and hope you can take my writing. :D

I bougtht my used Transit MK7 (short low version) which is a 100T260 a few weeks ago. It's been a craftsman car in a good condition so far.
My plan is to prepare it for transporting my motorbike on the on hand and to be somthing like a minimal equipped camper van on the other hand.

First of all I have to remove some rust and to seal the chassis. There are rust issues but no serious things yet.
Then I will do the interiour works like isolation, flooring, boxes on the sides and ventilation.

Hope it all will be successful at the end, so I can go for camping holiday with my wife in summer.

Oops. I forgot to tell you about myself.

I'm male, between 50 and 60 years old, and I am a technophile so I DIY almost everything. ... as you can see on my avatar which is my number plate.

I have learned TV repair in the 80th, developed medical MCU in the 90th and work as an self employed programmer now contributing for WordPress community.

I like travelling with my motorbike which is a Honda Transalp from 1995. And I like woodworking, so that I have combined my home office and woodshop in the sleeping room of our flat.
Yes that's real. We sleep in a smaller room, since you have to have priorities ... :D

If you want to know more, you're welcome to ask.

Thanks for keeping me awake last night. I did not know "Auf Wiedersehen pet" and watched a few episodes on YT.

I agree, but as a German I think that way about GB. And not only the country. I like the people's humor ... at least when I understand the context
