Hi everyone!

Just picked up what I thought was a Mk2 lwb County Conversion, to have it delivered this morning and find it’s a N.A.M Special Vehicles conversion from Newton Abbot, Devon!?

Were these basically the same with regards to all the 4x4 specific parts as the County Conversions? As I’m writing up a shopping list to get her back on the road!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I remember the Newton abbot factory and them being tested locally in the clay works, I recall comparing them to a county version and I think they had different front axles. the NAM had enclosed/cupped drive knuckles like a Landrover and the County had open ones like a Jeep Cherokee.

Any pictures?

Thanks Snaf,

That’s all I could find online too, hoping someone might have a workshop manual to find out torque specs and part numbers etc.

It deffo has an NP208 transfer box like a county, and the front axle is indeed enclosed cv’s like a landrover, with AVM free wheeling hubs. but I’m hoping to find out exactly what parts make up the swivels and axle. Just so I can get it all in working order. Will get a couple of pics up of this sorry state as soo as I figure out how…
