Hi folks! I have just purchased a Mk8 2018 Transit, LHD van and have brought it back to the UK to do a camper conversion here since its easier than doing it in the EU country I am resident in.
I learned to drive in a Ford Ka and it would seem that I have inadvertently developed a love for Fords. When I was thinking of getting a small van/people carrier when beginning renovating my house in 2016, I thought about getting a VW caddy. But after seeing several that were all £2k more expensive than a Ford Connect... and realising I just didn't like how they drove, I realised a return to my roots was in order! And what a good decision that was. I've loved my little Grand Tourneo Connect so much. I had a Renault Clio and Peugeot 2015 prior to this... and hated them both.
I don't know if there's something about the way they drive or just the familiarity since my first car was a Ford.... but I just love them! It took me 9 months to find one below 100,000km in the country I reside in since they are uncommon there and considered to be uneconomical... so here's to hoping my first 'big' van (it's only an L2H2!) will be just as fun and functional!
