Thats just the problem...finding one that doesn't PAY its workers, otherwise we are just paying someones wages with whatever we raise.

You could always personalise it but that brings in a lottery element, and usually the ones without publicity are the ones who need it most.

Lets draw up a list of criteria that the prospective receipient will have to meet. This is assuming that they will accept our donation! A group I know of bought a load of tents for flood and earthquake victims, but had them all returned, as they had a Union Flag marked on them!

I would propose: -
UK based.
Pays its workers more than or the same as its directors.
Some link with transport, engineering, travel.
A small organisation, unless we get support/publicity from a national one.

It would be great to find a body who would use the van themselves, rather than just spending the money raised, but thats my preferance..

Complete and utter bullshit. Just stick a bit of black tape over it like we do for TV.

If my house burned down and someone offered me a coat with " I am a twat " printed across it... i'd wear it - inside out  It would do the job until I could get another.

Isnt it just! - Staggering how these w*** can get into positions of power. Wasnt all wasted though as the local scout group ended up with the tents.

The scooter club i am secretary for raise money for a childrens hospices based in the West Midlands.

They exist entirely on donations and any money they recieve will be greatfully appreciated + they would love to look around the van and if asked nicely they will allow the children (parents permission granted) to be photographed having a good look round the vehicle. Many of these children are terminal and there parents love the idea that the children have exposure to experiences that they normally would not get. further to that it gives the parents sone nice memories of there children

The chairty is Acorns and web address is http://www.acorns.org.uk/
