what we can do at this stage is leave open the idea of which back axle to use - if we get a mk6 fwd one we'll use that but if we have to then we can use a mk4/5 one - just remove the cw&p :D

Yep, that sounds like a plan :D We will probably end up using a Mk4/5 as I can't see anyone giving us a Mk6/7 axle! Will try and work out what size motor we will need, plus sliders and motor mountings etc. :D

you could use a rear beam off somthing like a peugeot or talbot van easy to shorten if needed also will have a 4.75"pcd jag chevy so finding extra pair of wheels would be easier and a lot cheaper to get hold of
if its got tits or wheels its always gonna end in trouble !!!
anyone can restore a van but it takes a real man to chop it up !!!

hi all, theres a fella in bacton with a 6 wheel mk2 transit, when i asked him what he had sorted out about the tag axle, he said his van is 4 wheel drive with lock wheels on the front. the fella is quite knowledgable about that sort of thing. i will if you want get his mobile no. if you want to pick his brains and try to get some picks. ian.
