good to know that vans still around and it doesnt look in too bad condition :D

basically apart from the rising blocks that was the same idea i had for the tag axle - i see he's also left the full diff in (mabe he's removed the cw&p)

hi all, john told me that he wants to put the van back on the road and the only real reason for parking the van up was the lack of power stering, :( he also says its the lack of hrs in a day. i will tell him about the pic and he is going to sort some out of when he had it on the road as well. i will ask about the crown wheel in the diff. the van sits so high because he made it four wheel drive because of parking on grass and such like.
i know you don't have a lot of time on the build weekend so is it easyer to make ladder sachet to replace the one on the van's , by doing this you will have a striaght edge to slide the vans together and weld. this allows one team to work on the michanical side and one on the body work side, then you will be able to put the engine in the sachet in stead of trying to crane it it too engin bay wheres theres not a lot of room. i think i better shut up now , ian.

where abouts are you and john rvm :?:

what i'm thinking with the chassis is make up a strong box section that fits inside the rails to give it some strength :D similar to what i did on my pickup when i swapped the back :D this is a copy from my progress report - but i never took any pics of the box sections but you can see the weld to them :D

notched and new chassis offered up :D

there is some box sections to go inside the 2 chassis halfs to make the joint strong :Dsome progress today but i have pics

pics now  here shows the join box section is in between and the holes were pre cut in the outer chassis then filled in - theres 12 holes all together, also the joints welded, i left a 1mm gap all the way round and the overlap is plug welded, it's the 1st chassis joining job ive done and i'm pritty chuffed with it :D

thought i got some more pics but they are off stus mobile so mabe they will come through later :? one more pic i found :D
