Mk8 pulsating clutch

Postby Jack211 » Tue Apr 05, 2016 4:15 pm

Hi there, just after picking some brains over here! I have a mk8 now with about 7k on! I have a pulsating feeling in the clutch, so in pretty confident it's the dmf, would I be right in saying this? It has got slightly worse over time but done 5k and no other apparent signs of failure. There isn't a rattling on tickover, no other strange noises from dmf yet. Is there a certain reason why I may only be getting one symptom?

Ford don't want to know even though it's still under warranty, and obviously I don't want to run it until it causes a major problem, but has anyone got any experience with this? Reckon I'd be able to get another 10k out of it? Not impressed with ford at this point, I do a lot of towing but I still wouldn't expect this of anything

Thanks,

I'd bet ford would be quick enough to repair it once the warranty has expired and you have to pay. :x

Keep on at them and record every conversation either digitally or in a note book/diary.
records of names/dates/times etc.just incase the worst happens and they try to fob you off by claiming you
never reported it when it was a minor issue.

Run the motor and report it to them as it gradually gets worse.

Take it to an independant garage for inspection and get a written report.
If it is found to be DMF failure present them with the bill for the inspection.

Just a few ideas but no solution.

Thanks good suggestions. It seems ford have just washed ther hands with, sad but I kind of expected it. I have seen a few other manufactures like skoda and vw cover dmfs. I'm certainly not going to give up on it though! Can't afford to do it so jus going to keep running it. No suggestions on what it could be? Or something breaking up? I have had a rattling one before on a older transit mk7 and went for about 10k before it gave up! Any insight would be great
