Some silly questions about my new transit

Bear with me here some quite pedantic questions...!! Got my 125hp trend l3h2 last Thursday and have to say I'm over the moon with it, great to drive really smooth and feels so much better than my old sprinter, interior cab at front is best I've seen in a van and also had a lot of comments that The van looks great!
1. Is there a way of turning the lights out that come on when back or side door is opened, with my job the doors can be open for hours at a time and eventually they go off but just wondering if it will drain my battery when moving job to job with doors open for long periods.
2. After my glowing endorsement, my only slight niggle would be that in 1st there seems to be hardly any power, you need to move to 2nd straight away, are all the new transits like this, or is there a slight glitch?
3. Under the passenger seats where they lift and the load space is underneath there is a small box with wires coming from it at the front of the load space just under the seat, anyone know what this is for?

1. Check if you can turn off the lights from the light switch above your rearview mirror

2. Mine needs a lot of gas to take off from first gear and mine is the heaviest version of the transit

3. no clue right now, i think i have one but forgot whats it for, i also have the rear compartment heater there in my minibus

1) No you can't, but it's easy to find the connectors for the lights and unplug them if you don't use them. I have. You can always pop them back in again.

2) Very smooth engine but I have found that there's no power at all at revs below the power curve, hence correct gear selection is key. Quite different from the Mk 7.

3) I'm guessing that wiring for heated/electrically adjustable seats. Redundant if you haven't specced them.

It's a 310, I had worked out about 1100 kg, is that right?

It'll be 3100 mins you kerb mass which can be found here:

Your kerb mass might be higher if you've specced options.
