We rented newer Ford Transit Van to transport people in Vegas. At one point both the people in the front and back got out at the same time and the back/side door swung open and collided with the edge of the front passenger door and dented the back/side door. We are now being charged with damages by the rental company but don't feel it is our responsibility but a manufacturers defect. There are no warnings to watch for this or to caution people from opening the doors at the same time nor any mechanism to prevent the back door from swinging all the way open.
Can you provide me with any information to let me know if this is a common occurrence and if there is anything we can do to dispute this charge.
Thank you
