The standard transit seats don't have airbags. These do but I haven't plugged them in so they aren't active.

Are you converting it?

Yours seems a different spec to mine without the plastics down the side.

Nice seats. I have a spare BMW 5 series seat would that fit?!

Failing that some Volvo seats.... Always had Volvo's so would like some Volvo in my van. Perhaps if the engine goes I can put in a D5!!!

Cheers James

Yes converting it into a camper.

Not sure what yiu mean about different spec with plastic down the side? Mine was originally a L3H2 7 seater crew cab 350 model.

I'd say 5 series seats would be a bit big maybe? I got the kuga ones as I thought being a Ford they may be the same/similar in width etc for the runners. I was correct there was only 20 or so mm in it.

Volvos are always comfy so if you can make seats fit they'd be ideal! The engine would be even better....... Haha

Hi

Mines a minibus so it has plastics covering all the body.

Great but could do with insulation behind at some point.

Are you doing a build thread.

Nickmcd wrote:Ford galaxy seats will fit. Some are swivel seats. They turn about 90deg so you need to remove the stop to allow them to turn 360 degrees. Currently converting a L3H3, bought a 2nd hand drivers seat base, fits where the double came out from. Bought 4 pieces of 8mm thick 100mm wide steel bars cut to length of the seat base, fitted to seat bases using original seat bolts and bolted the galaxy seats to the bars. No issues, no need to lower the handbrake, just release when turning the seat then re-apply.

Hi Nickmcd,

I know you posted this a while ago but I'm just converting my van and really like your idea.
Can you post some pictures or your seat conversion please.

Thanks Jeff

Single passenger seats for the transit are huge money!

I set-up an ebay email alert. They are silly money, but occasionally there are bargains to be had if you're quick and happy to travel.

My Transit has airbags in the seats, maybe the loom is there already?

Might not be compatible I suppose.
