Adding heated mirrors

Postby stevedude » Sun May 02, 2021 2:22 pm

Hiya, I want to add heated mirrors to my 2016 mk8 transit panel van.

I've just spend an hour trying to find detailed info in to this and came up blank.

Can anyone help me with this?

Should not be too hard, you just need the relevant switch (HRW) an auto relay, heated mirror elements and the appropriate cables and fuses.
12v ign switched & fused supply to the relay switching circuit.
12v feed to the switched side of the relay running to the mirrors and the return to earth....

You can use a fuse diagram for a vehicle with heated mirrors to get your required mirror feed amps and cable sizes....

Thanks for your reply.

Do you have a clue where I might find a fuse diagram for this?

WIthout looking I would expect it to be in your owners manual - it will list electric mirrors even if not fitted, show which fuse they should be on and the fuse rating.
The fuseway will likely have a supply to it but no power out, in thius case you use a fuse jumper like these
