Wow, thanks for the heads up. I’m getting paranoid about my 2018 Custom now…. It’s only done 22,000 miles but that’s irrelevant to the belt condition I’d guess?

Fantastic, thank you. Very useful to see a "bad" one. I carried out the inspection myself for peace of mind until the Ford inspection becomes available. On my belt the writing was clearly legible with no delamination of the belt visible.
Could you comment on the mileage and servicing of the belt in the image?

2018 plate with around 88,000 on the clock. Serviced at around every 25,000 miles each year.

OK, so 3 oil changes in 88k. Full service history I guess!
So in this case either the belts going to snap or the oil pick up is going to block before the cambelt is due!

Do you expect the recall to show on ETIS?

Just checked Etis and my 2018 custom isn’t due a recall apparently

it was released on 6/6/2021, more than likely it will be a gradual release to customers as not to cause a parts supply shortage again.

Thanks p2thed! Just checked mine and the recall notice has been relisted on ETIS.

If anyone is interested, the guys over at Salvage Rebuilds UK on youtube have just finished a timing belt change on a transit custom 2.0l ecoblue and frankly it looks like a nightmare. https://youtu.be/lxrxzkG4PXk

Just wondering if anyone on here has taken their van in for the recall yet and actually had the timing belt changed? I'm about to book mine in.

2016. It's also at the 80k mile mark which seems to be when the belt issues start to crop up based on what I have read.
