Brake wear light & MOT

Postby Ray Austin » Fri Dec 03, 2021 5:26 pm

Our mark8 RWD 2015 is due its mot in a few weeks but the brake wear indicator light is on. Its has new pads on the back and the fronts are fine. Is it an mot fail if the light is on.

The impression I am getting is any warning light that is on is an mot failure. Checked all the sensors plugged a new sensor into each but the light is still on. I know that the cable carries a small voltage and when there is a break on the cable it earths it turning on the light. is there a simple way off turning of the light for now. Thank you all.

Will have another look at it this week on the nearside the sensor plug was broken and someone has just joined the 2 wire together with a conector to make a circuit.

Finally managed to get it sorted. The previous owner had broken one of the rear plugs and the wires were joined togerther to make a circuit. Re-did the connector and the light is now off have to see we can replace that section of the loom.
