Mk8 2.0 air lock in fuel system after filter change

Postby wgarry » Mon Jan 24, 2022 6:45 am

My mk8 2.0 2017 plate went into limp mode and I had about 5 miles to get home, it was driving ok (I’m limp mode) for about the first 4 miles and by the time I got to my house it was cutting out about every 20 foot and I had to wait a couple of minutes for it to start again.

I parked it up and went a got a fuel filter. I fitted the fuel filter without filling with fuel and primed it at 30 seconds 3 times.

It fired up for about 10 seconds then died, now it won’t start at all. I’ve tried priming at again and attached a lithium battery booster to crank it faster but had no joy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not sure but on the 2.2 I think it’s been mentioned on here there’s a Schrader valve on the fuel rail that you con press in to bleed it the 2.0 may have one as well but I don’t know it’s just what I seen on here.

Sorry about that you could try old school and crack the injection pipes but I think you have to do short bursts as the bcm shuts off the fuel when it detects a drop in pressure also can you hear the pump in the tank working
