Cold start issues 2.2 Mk8

Postby Andy Mac274 » Mon Jun 10, 2024 5:21 pm

Any bright ideas on this problem, Mk8 2.2 Euro 5, 2016 47000m.

So in a nutshell the good old cold starting issue followed by slightly rough idling for several seconds. This has been ongoing since last Yr, worse when cold. Once started drives like a dream, pulls well, sounds as new.

New gen fuel filter and air.
Fuel lines checked, all dry,no signs of leaks anywhere.
Battery spot on.
I've removed the EGR, inlet and throttle body. Bit gammy but not excessive, all cleaned up and like new.
Intercooler pipes not split and oil free.
MAF and MAP cleaned properly.
No oil in coolant.
Never uses any oil between changes.

I now thinking Fuel pressure related. Pulled the plug on the crankcase sensor, started but threw up engine fault, did the same with the SCV on the side of the fuel pump same again.

Forscan all green, no DTC.

I'm going to look a live data. Which readings should I look at on tickover and what readings should I be ideally getting

I'm running out of ideas !!

Ta much,
Andy

Yes spot on, runs with ignition on, no air in fuel pump, checked via valve.
