Ford do this all the time, it will be a shot in the foot since most transit buyers don't go by price or quality, but sentiment. It was the same for Capri, Cortina, Granada, and we got Probe, Sierra, Scorpio. The Americans have no concept of loyalty for UK customers. Wave goodby to our beloved Transit, the new one looks nothing like it, just the badge and name:(

LOL, all this was said when the mK3 replaced the MK2 and again when the MK6 replaced the MK5.

But have you seen it, nothing like a Transit in any way, plus no longer made in a proper ford factory, sad.

Of course I've seen it and the pictures don't do it justice. As for 'proper Ford factory', if you want a shoddily built van with variable paintwork, then you'd better get a Soton built van while you still can.

but as mike said look at the mk2 and mk3 or the mk5 and mk6 :roll:
even look at a 400e and a mk1 drastic changes

True, just looks cheap to me, we have one at our dealer, and from any angle there seems no connection to the old transit in any way, more than any previous change IMO. Perhaps they need to appeal to the jap van buyer.
