new ford transit may 2014 rwdi

Postby alecstarlite » Thu May 29, 2014 10:11 pm

I have just bought ford transit rwd L3 h2
May 2014 . When im selecting gears and driving it seems as if the tappits are rattling or a thrust bearing is loose or like you have selected low gears . It just does not sound nice n smooth
Ive taken it back but said it was ok . I had a sprinter before this and it was nt rattling . Any ideas or is this just a ford its not engine as its nice n smooth only when in gear and driving just sounds a bit loose

Ask the dealer to drive another and then compare it to yours.

one of the things that put me off the mk8 was the amount of engine noise

I thought that about my mk7, ford engines are very noisy compared to others. Not so much db, but just a harsh noise.

My l4 h3 sounds a little "grumbly" when doing 50ish mph in 6th but drop it down to 5th and it revs to high! Are you having trouble when filling up i.e fuel leaking around the top of the filler neck?

I test drove 125 new tranist sound smooth to me pretty slow though as for the sprinter we have a 14 plate 316cdi sprinter euro 5 face lift model and it sound shocking , it sounds really rough a bit embarrassing to be honest , it's my brothers van
And he complaint to Mercedes and showed him a few and they are all like that(I told home to get 319cdi v6) so he could compete with my 3.2 5 potter l :)

we have got the latest Sprinter (313), you seem to get a lot of exhaust noise when under load (which is most of the time, not the quickest of beasts ! )

Got a 155, very smooth and quiet but 1500revs pulling hard does sound harsh as Torque curve kicks in, but a lot quieter and a lot better to drive than the mk 7 I had previously. Done about 1200 miles so far, getting 27-28mpg.
