Galvanised transit?

Postby chubbygold » Sun Jul 06, 2014 9:19 pm

Hi all, have the new transits got galvanised bodys/chassis?
Or are they going to rot like all previous transits!
Thanks.

Look to me to have the same chassis as the Mk6/7, so more like a third facelift to fit a bigger lump in it and not a good one at that. So yeah, they will rot quicker than a Mk5.
My Mk5 was biodegradable and disintegrated with time.

Finally entered the 21st Century and bought a MK7. Oh Dear.

Seen one in person here in malta and looked at the front arches, they just seem to have just made the mk7 chassis bigger and called it the mk8.

So the completely different interior, and exterior are just an optical illusion then :? :? :?
How many ways is there to make a van chassis? They are all going to be fairly similar

I wasn't saying that the interior and body arent new but i was expecting something innovative chassis wise seeing that the outgoing model is 13 years old.

Another thing i dont like in the mk8 is the transmission tunnel is too high compared to the mk7.

" A long anti-perforation warranty for extra reassurance
As a measure of the vehicle’s built quality, the all-new Transit comes with a 12-year anti-perforation warranty as standard."

Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger.
