delivery postponed

Postby joiner12007 » Sun Feb 01, 2015 9:06 pm

Well I can honestly say I'm more than p****d off, ordered my Mk 8 back in December and was given an approximate build date of January as it was a factory order with delivery to the dealers in March.

Got a phone call this week to say the build date had been knocked back until late March/April so I wont take delivery until Mid May.

Thanks Ford

That will be the Dealers fault, not Ford. They must have submitted the order late, or had no build slots in that quarter left . They normally group together orders to make up numbers and get better deals from Ford. Seems to have gone wrong.

Apparently they had ordered 13 in the same period as mine, mine x 1,one for my mate x 1 another customer x 1 and another customer whom ordered 10. Two of the order of 10 turned up last week :x

Well fingers crossed you get it then. Ive had one on order now since 30/09/14 and still to be confirmed a built date. Ford have told the dealer to check on their website twice now and still no joy. Hoping that the next time (9/2/15) he checks I might have a date :x

Jesus that's a bit of a P*** take hopefully you've had some joy today, we're also supposed to get an update this month.

I can't understand why Ford just don't replace stock vehicle production numbers on the production line with a customers factory orders or concentrate more on factory order vehicles and fill in the gaps in production with stock orders if the demand is as high as what they are saying when the stock vehicles either sit on the forecourt or in a compound waiting for a buyer.

Whilst I appreciate that Ford do need to have some stock vehicles available and an element of base model vans for fleet operators it still seems madness that factory orders take so long on a van. It took us 7 months for a factory order Golf GTi two years ago and from start to finish it all went as detailed from build dates to delivery so maybe Ford need to take some advise form VW.

What van have you on order ?

I have to say these delivery dates and postponements for smaller operators aren't great and I think Ford may loose some custom over these lead times :?

I did consider the Deep impact Blue and I have to say it is a stunning colour and I was strongly drawn towards it but I had reservations over how easy it may show up marks and lights scratches/scuffs been such a vibrant colour the marks will show up as white lines in my mind. So I opted for the safer moon dust silver, I have a Tonic colour at the moment and its a great colour, the current range of colours that Ford is offering is Sh**e in my opinion, Lunar Sky looks like it just needs DHL Stickers applying onto it and you've got yourself a well known nationwide courier van.

Regards the engine I opted for the 155PS as I currently run a 130 PS and I didn't want to go backwards, also the cost of the van with the 155 lump was less the cost with the 125 engine.

I've read a few reviews on line with people saying that the 125 runs of steam when laden and going up hill, so I would sooner have a more responsive group of stallions under the bonnet and not have to thrash them to get the results which in my mind makes for better fuel efficiency if your not thrashing it.
