Ford "easy fuel" - what am I doing wrong?

So the Mk8 features this Easy Fuel thing.
Basically the cap is closed and only opens when you put in the ... end of the hose. And the cap closes instantly after removing the hose. You can use a plastic funnel that you get with a van for this. But the funnel is too small for the hose at the station. So it can be used for emergency refueling.

This thing s supposed to be all smart and good.
But every time I use it, some fuel ends up on my car.

Because you know, you cannot just fill UP like FULL UP your van with this thing anymore. And worse, even if I wait a minute after the refuel finished - there is still some fuel left in the hose.

And when you pull the hose out, the cap closes instantly, pushing out fuel.

My question: How is this thing treating you guys?
Does it work for you?
(I tried Shell stations as well, but this happens with every station.)

Is there a trick tho?
Or when the fuel stops then you just wait?
Or remove it as soon as its done?

Btw Im thinking that the cheaper Hungarian filling stations are not really standard-compilant.

No tricks, make sure the nozzle is fully inserted, fill, remove, I don't even bother waiting before I remove it. Never had any fuel wastage.

Well, I feel a bit stupid now.
Not because I managed to refuel properly, but because everyone is saying that it should work.

Next time I will wait a solid 15 seconds or more ...
But really, when I just pull it out, there is fuel in the hose and that just gets out you know, like ...comes out.
Then it ends up under the cap, WHICH GOT A HOLE at the bottom, so the fuel just kindly drips under the plastic and stuff. (Wonderful feeling - especially with a new van.)

Ok my Connect arrived and the fueling went fine.

I have trouble with this sometimes huns, so don't worry.

I do all the right things aswell like it says in the book - insert to first notch on nozzle,angle down the handle, only 2 clicks full maximum (even try just one click most times), wait 10 seconds etc etc blah blah blah. It's hit or miss as to whether is pisses out from the plastic skirt or not. Annoying as f**k!

But I tell you what, it varies from place to place if it does it or not. Theres one place I go to where it never does it, and one place it will do it every time even after waiting a lot longer than 10 secs.

Basically if it is down to the pumps, I think any system should be designed for the 'least' ideal situation. Not assuming a perfectly behaving pump nozzle. Think its a sh*t idea myself but am prepared for the backlash!
