What was ford thinking when it did the interior lighting?!

Postby Damien89 » Fri Aug 07, 2015 8:25 pm

So i removed one of the interior lights to see what bulbs are in them, and found out that they have puny bulbs in a huge bulb holder, they should put 2 10/20 watt bulbs! Will see whats available to upgrrade.

I opted for the optional LEDs I have to say they are fantastic really impressed with them and well worth the £80 extra that they cost.

Hard to believe that in this day and age, that they're not fitting LED's as standard in the cab and load space :?

Very easy to upgrade yourself though :D

Looks like all the leds in the speedo have built up a surplus of bulbs so they've put them into the interior lights

Yes, I noticed that after I posted  Those are Mk6/7 lights, and the LED's make them much brighter, so that I can read my paperwork without an additional torch.
You'll have to do some mods with your holders, or maybe find one from another model that fits in the space

Hard to say without seeing your light up close, they do look the right shape, but can you get into the section where the business part of the bulb sits :?:
If it's sealed, you may need to source a different unit :|

I reckon there just the treat :-) the clear part of your lens needs to come off then push it into the bulb holder, make sure it is the right way to fit into and put the lens back on 8)
Million dollar question is..... Are your clear lens clipped on or welded on :?:
