Mk8 body parts NOT available

Back in early April I had a no fault shunt in the back of my new Mk8 L3 H3, taking out 2 plastic bumper / trim sections, one rear door and the rear side panel. These parts have been on back order from my local dealer since that time.
He has informed me that the body parts production has been transferred from Turkey to India and basically to write off any hope of seeing parts this year!
Has anyone else had experience of this?
I've had trannys for decades now, but this will sure make me think of another make next time!

not to dampen your mood any more than is already, but there are Custom owners on here who are waiting for panels and parts which are on a long backorder, and that van has been around since 2013

Both the van and the parts situation, is really bad at the moment

By way of update - some six months after the order for the panels were placed, I got a call from the dealer to leave the van into the body shop.
Two days later, another call "They sent us the wrong side panel"...
Here we go for another six months!

Was in a main dealers today and they had a two week mk 8 in pieces all over the workshop floor for an oil leak.Mechanic informs me all parts on back order .I think they will be working outside for the winter
