Dead MK8

Postby vehiclesystems » Thu Nov 26, 2015 4:26 pm

Hi Guys,

We have an issue with a 14 plate Transit 350 trend.

Whilst installing a tracking device at the driver fuse box area one of the wires was accidentally shorted. Either one of the small brown and yellow wires or a thicker purple with a red trace.

Since this has happened the ignition doesn't switch on, the key wont lock the vehicle, windows wont go down, cant lock the vehicle from inside.

We have been through the vehicle and checked every single fuse and everything appears to be okay and we are now stumped for ideas.

Can anyone help? The van is based in Washington Tyne and wear.

Thanks in advance.

Sound like you need a decent auto sparky to look at it, or as a last resort a Ford dealer.

I think you could be right Mike, its a customers vehicle and we need to get this back on the road for them, its all a bit of a mess. Ford dealer no doubt...

Does it have a fusible link on the battery, or the front battery if there are two :?:

On the custom there is some well hidden fuses under plastic covers behind the battery....inc the 64amp one for the seat aux power point
