New van weak flywheel

Hey all

So I have got a 65 plate 3.5ton that I Often tow with. The van has only got 2k miles, however I think the flywheel is going already. It's been driven normally, however I live in a very hilly area so I appreciate its not going to be easy for the van. I can feel a little bit of vibration through the pedal, no funny noises yet on turn off or idle, but does rattle a little a low revs in first and second, not sure if this is normal though.

Question is how long can I get out of the flywheel before it goes if I nurse it? And could the flywheel be changed without doing the clutch? Also could this be covered under warranty?

I appreciate wear and tear but this is extreme. I had a mk6 that i managed to get 80k out of before it went.

Take it back, its a term of the warranty that any issues are reported as soon as possible

i was told when i (unfortunately) had a euro5 mk7 that any signs of clutch slip/overheating & the flywheel wasn't covered

Thanks for the replies guys. Not looking great warranty side of things then. I have seen
On other forums skoda and some vw that they are covered but I know the transits are weak for them anyway.

So how long do you guys think I can nurse it for? As i really don't want to be forking out 1k already. Going to ring ford up anyway and see what sense I can get out of them.

Take it back, it's only done 2k miles! That's not acceptable full stop. It's not fit for purpose.

Get it back and get it sorted. Even if they say there's nothing wrong, report it now, so if it does go at 20k they should still cover it as it was failing at 2k miles.

Had a word with ford, they didn't have much to say really. Put it down to driver style rather than a failure on their behalf. It's got 7k on now and still going ok. The pulsating through the pedal has gone worse, however there still isn't any signs or
Rattling on tickover etc, still starts ok, selects gear, just the pulsating pedal. Does anyone know what part actually fails? I have heard a lot of people complaining about rattling but like
I say nothing on mine so far. Shall I just keep driving it until it gets bad?
