Central locking on new 65 plate transit transit

Postby Lurchersand1cat » Tue Apr 05, 2016 7:39 pm

I usually use a Ventlock on my van for ventilation unfortunately my new van won't lock my van at all if any of the doors are open. Can you knock the sensors off and still lock the van up with door securely open

No. If the BCM sees a door is open it won't lock and will give a toot on the horn to let you know.

If you manually close the latch on the relevant door, van will lock...

Surely if your using a ventlock, the latch will be in the closed position and therefore van will lock as normal ??

That used to be the case with previous van however this has contacts on so if the contacts are in contact with each other then van just swears at me and say no I shan't lock as previous replier.

Are you talking about the sliding side doors here or rear double doors ?

We've not had any problems yet with mk8s to have to look, but I've not seen any contact plates ?

Tried this on a brand new van today,
Works with no problem,
You have to close the latch on the rear door (must go to 2nd click)
Then van will lock or unlock with no issues or mis-lock beep,
Even with both rear doors wide open !

Just remember to 'Spring' the latch before trying to re-close doors normally.

You sir are a genius
It wouldn't lock with the vent lock on normal way but turned upside down the double click can be achieved and hey presto.

Whoop!
