If you're really lucky, you could have a 1.0 ecoboost petrol hybrid  :P

Should go well in a 3.5t Jumbo with a trailer

Those 1.5 litre petrol turbo engines that Honda did for Williams F1 in the eighties put out over 1000hp.

Mind you, they were a consumable service item every 200 miles.

A bit like the 2.2 TDCi really.....

One of the users on US Ford Transit Forum, who's owner cargo van with the V6 3,5l twin-turbo Ecoboost, the strength of 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque (542 Nm) wrote, that is van full loaded or empty - it doesn't really make a difference about acceleration.
This engines are built to last. Two turbocompressors - each one works for three cylinders - provide only 0.8 bar. They are unbreakable. For Transit it is engine-dream.
In Europe we're in a deep, dark hole.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naturally aspirated engine 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 has "only"... 275 pound-feet (373 Nm).

Try to sell in US even one Transit Cargo Van with GVWR over 10,000 lbs with 2.0 l Diesel engine. Or Transit Bus 17 passengers with the same engine. You'll never get out that way. They will look at you like a crazy.
Americans haven't ploughed-up brains yet by environmentalists - as Europeans. They are some years... late with downsizing. They started from 5 - 7 liters of capacity, we from 2,5 liters...

It would be nice if they even still did the 3.2 diesel engine in the Transit

The 2.0 diesel is ok, but I miss the poke of my 3.0 V6 230 bhp Navara.
