Mk8 alarm and LED lights

Postby man le-mans » Sun Sep 09, 2018 10:57 pm

Hi all, I’ve now got my new transit trend and one of the options I picked was Thatcham category 1 alarm with 2nd remote key. it’s saying on the fords site that the trend comes with a second remote key so how do I know if it has the alarm or not.
I also paid extra for the load area protection kit which give you LED lights and shoulder height boards which I don’t think it has. Just asking if anyone knows anything on this

Load area protection kit - Transit Trend
Load compartment LED lights, Shoulder height cargo area trim boards

Thanks

Unlock the door with the key and open it. The active alarm will beep at you until you turn on the ignition, or the alarm will go off if you don't do it fast enough :)

If you've got the Cat 1 alarm, there is an option to disable interior sensor on the dash screen.

I'm not sure how 'shoulder height' can be an option, because that's half way up the main panel.
The Trend has the bottom board as standard, LED light or not.

This is the option list that I’ve copy and paste, I wanted the LED lights and thought for the extra £20 it be worth having the extra boarding. My mate had the LED lights option for the £80 and he has 4 lights and they are so bright compare to mine

Can you post a picture of the boards?
I'm intrigued what 'shoulder height means.

I've bought two mk8 Trends, one with LED lights and one without.
They both have the same boards in the back.
I suppose you could call it shoulder height 9n Danny Devito.

The thing is although I’ve ordered it as a extra the boards was the same as my mates trend that he never ordered just the LED lights as the 2ft boards are standard on trends. So not sure as I’m sure the lights aren’t LED either tho the load area protection kit is on my invoice

The list options are here but can't find any pictures of it so guess I have to phone fords it's page 9-19

Thanks Altransit yes the alarm sounded when I unlocked the drivers door, thanks again

The van I just bought apparently has the Ford Cat 1 alarm fitted, where is the option to disable the sensors? I've had a look through the dash buttons and theres nothing for the alarm settings.

Was the guy I bought it from wrong? Is there no alarm? Is there an obvious way to tell? The interior light looks like it has 2 sensors built in?

I tried setting it off just using the key when the dor was double locked, but nothing happened, it just opened (it has a replock fitted)

Can anyone look up my van if I supply the reg to see if it has one fitted?!
