Immobilser Active - Check Handbook Fault

Postby newimage4300 » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:18 pm

Hi - I have a 15 plate H3L3 Transit Trend just came out of warranty last June - starts fine when its been sat a few hours. You do a journey, stop (say for fuel) so a few minutes. Get back in, and when starting comes up with Immobilser Active - Check Handbook.

Had a locksmith take a look and his diagnostics shows a fault of BCM loosing communication with Instrument Panel.

You leave it alone for 5-10mins and chances are it will start perfectly.

Is this a key issue or something else?

Possibly an issue with the transceiver around ignition barrel, that reads the chip in key.

Well it went into Ford - they have killed it!

Won't read any keys, won't program any keys and won't start!

They have asked me to provide 2 keys that are programmed - they have both keys!

Tried to use the fact that because one of the keys is battery powered and not charged from the ignition that that is part of the problem.

Which is utter balls - both keys have always unlocked / relocked and started the van.

Lets see what happens next!
