Rear suspension bump stops

Postby tompeach90 » Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:20 pm

Hi had my mk8 for 6 months or so now noticed when I put a bit of weight on it (not over weight or anything) it's sits really low looked at the rear axle and noticed the bump stops had almost worn away to nothing, have changed them today but now am wondering do all of these vans sit on the bump stops all the time.

Cheers Image

Mine is loaded to the max and was on the bump stops from new, even though the old MK 6 was not with the same tools and load.

Seems crazy that these bits of rubber are basically supporting the back end of van. Oh well I'm sure the guys at ford know what they are doing

You should try to be more ladylike :D

Mines a jumbo too and only thing on it at moment are a few tools(which are obv removed at night) and it's sat on them now. I did try to be more lady like with it, but got my heels stuck under the clutch and added even more weight with my handbag and make up
