Hi everyone. My mk8 has just had something on the dash screen like, belt service. Is this for the timing belt of drive belt. I know my mk7 was a chain.

It's likely "service beltminder",relating to seatbelt warning lamp,
I've seen it,but can't remember the cause or cure,
I seem to think they'll do it if battery/ies are low..
Or
Could be a wiring issue to,or buckle itself ....
