Mk8 2015 Ford Transit Luton with Taillift

Postby Iancrowle » Sat Jun 01, 2019 1:23 pm

Hi Everyone i am new to this Transit Forum, I hope someone can give me advice. In November 2018 my clutch failed on my van. My van was recovered to a local garage and a new dmf and clutch was fitted at a cost of £1900.00. In January 2019 after the van had done 1000 miles the van would not engage any gears. so in January 2019 they fitted a new clutch again as the one fitted was faulty. Now my van shakes and vibrates at 50mph to 62mph been told dmf has gone. Do these things have a guarantee? i have only done 1600 miles since clutch fitted. But garage is refusing to replace it. I have dmf and clutches replaced before on other vehicles but they have all lasted 100k + i do not tear about or use clutch pedal as a foot rest. Thanks for your help in advance Ian

It’s not just run out on a tyre is it?

Nightmare, I’ve just had the engine out of mine and fitted a new clutch and dmf. I’ll be hoping to get more than 1600 miles out of it.

I got a new LUK dmf off eBay for about £100. Not sure what the labour would be to fit, not really the point when it’s obvious premature failure I suppose

You are being ripped off big time  Bring it to another garage and ask the to check the driveshaft alignment  posting.php?mode=reply&f=64&t=193452# Then produce this document and scare the skit out of the chancers

I’ve had to rebuild the engine twice in 12 months due to cracked pistons and 6 new injectors at £180 a pop mate

Got it back on the road a couple of days ago and the abs,tcs and airbags lights all came on which ended up being a cracked toner ring on the back hub, fixed that today so fingers crossed

Had loads of luck but most of it bad!

This is the link to the dmf I bought, if you send him the vehicle reg he checks it’s the right one for your van

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3735876580

I’ve no idea how much but can’t see the labour being massive to drop the gearbox and fit this when doing it on a ramp. Clutch should be ok to reuse. Good luck mate

https://www.ebay.ie/itm/273803514852 £300 should go along way towards fitting depending where you are located

Are there any issues with fitting a solid flywheel? That’s a good price
