MK8 'AdBlue Warning' even when full - no codes

Postby cts1975 » Thu Oct 10, 2019 6:09 pm

I've looked through the MK8 forum but have not found the same problem on any other post.

We currently have a 2015 125 TDCi which last week came up with a 'Service Now' warning on the dash. It was due to be serviced a few days later.
Within a couple of days it had gone into limp mode and lost power etc.
When starting it it showed 'service now' and then some sort of emissions based warning which the driver did't make a note of.
We took into our usual place to have it checked out and by the time we got it there it was showing an AdBlue warning limit of 400 miles.

As things currently stand it is no longer in limp mode, has no faults logged but still has the AdBlue warning which has no gone down to 31 miles?
And yes the AdBlue is topped up to nearly full.
I'm guessing that the service reset hasn't been done (on the last service) and this has caused the above problems but we are still left with the AdBlue warning telling us it wont start etc.
Any help appreciated.

yes it is a minibus - definitely has adblue.
The garage has managed to get the 'service now' warning off the dash. All was good but the amber engine management light came on after approx 10 miles.
The 'start stop' function has also stayed in the 'off ' position. It will not change after starting or when pressing the 'start stop' button.

Stop start not working is possible a sign of batteries getting weak when auxiliary battery is going it causes no end of problems

The garage have suggested taking the DPF off to have it cleaned/flushed as it still showing as partially blocked based on the diagnostics.
So that will be the next step.

Some faults and dtcs, even if no longer present or have been cured, require the ad-blue system 'fault inducement' to be cleared/reset,this is a separate procedure to code reading or clearing...
You may have to take this to a dealer as it's done through Fords online diagnostics (GFDRS)
