Is the jump start point permanently live?

Postby motorhomer2018 » Wed Dec 04, 2019 1:24 pm

Just a quick question.

is the jump start point in the engine bay permanently live, or does it have some sort of diode there to stop people inadvertently being electrocuted?

It's permanently live, and connected to the starter battery, but the good news is that no-one has ever been electrocuted with a mere 12v 8)

I'll not use it to rest my tea on then.

Altransit, can you get someone to video you holding on the earth point with your right hand, and then the jump point with your left.

I genuinely would like to know the outcome :?:

You have to have the earth in your left hand due to the way the current flows, it’s DC remember

Yes, but it makes a difference whether you're right or left handed .................. apparently :P

OP, If you could be electrocuted with 12v, I would have been dead years ago
