Finding ingition switch power point in Mk 8 cab

Postby edistone » Mon Dec 23, 2019 6:21 pm

I have a Mk8 Chassis Cab H1L4 and am fitting a wireless rear parking sensor unit. I am looking for an ignition switch controlled power point in the cab to power the display unit. There are plenty of spare fuse points but these are all unswitched.

I am also find power sources hard to find. I have a brand new custom and most the fuse slots are empty but have not electrical connectors and the fuse taps I bought dont seem to fit the ford fuse box :(

I need an always on and ignition on power feed, so if any one know of the easy way to tap into these please let me know.

Many thanks

I found one under the passenger seat... I think the grey connector was for heated seats but not fitted in mine...(not sure though). I used it to power a rear view camera...

Fuse board beside steering column F21 is ignition switched for extras.

Add a pigyback fuse like below and all will be good.

Does you fuse box look like this?

I cant see any refferance to F21. My piggy back fuses adaptor doesnt seem to fit in my fuse box.

Many thanks

Have you looked on the BEMM on the Ford etis site?

It's full of all sorts of info for exactly this.

I think Ford have change the fuse box as I have hardly any micro fuses with connectors in the spaces and not many active micro fuses, plus the piggy back fuses dont fit

Thanks cornishpasty for the info
