Parking Buzzer Location

Postby NewBoy » Sat Feb 22, 2020 11:32 am

HI guys,

I am having issues with the dreaded parking sensors on my transit  . I have had a diagnostic done on it and it has come up wit a fault on the "buzzer".
Where about will I find the buzzer? has anyone got access to a parts drawing of where the buzzer is located?

It is a Transit 2013 Mk8 Crew cab, LWB.

Thank you for all the help that this forum has given me so far.

New Boy.

Ideally your first post has to be in the Welcome section mate. Nonetheless do you mean the buzzer for when the vehicle is in reverse? It's probably somewhere near the rear lights...
EDIT - think you mean the buzzer for the actual parking sensors lol, not sure where that is!

 Not really, his first post can be where he likes, so long as it's the appropriate section.

I'm only slightly confused that he has a 2013 Mk8 :? Did they not launch in 2014 :?:

You're right, when I first joined the forum I thought I read in the WELCOME section's READ FIRST bit, that you have to post a little intro in said section before being approved and all that, but it actually says 'IT'S BEST TO...'

When I said 'You're right' I wasn't trying to confirm that you were right Altransit, wouldn't dream of it lol. I was more confirming to myself that I was wrong lol

Well what a welcome to the forum!
First comment telling me I've posted in the wrong section  , and the second questioning my judgment on what model I have

None the less, thank you for your warm welcome and reply to my first query.

For any one else having this issue i thought i would follow up what happened and how I've cured the issue.
First symptom was that I had a system check message on the dash that said "Parking Aid Service Req'd" on seeing this message i took it to my local ford dealer and they plugged there computer in. They told me that it was the loud buzzer that comes on constantly when you re too close to something, but then also said it could have been a wiring issue ect ect ect. I went away and thought i would investigate myself, purchased a new buzzer off the internet for £12 and thought i would start there. Locating the buzzer was slightly tricky, i ended up using a friends van to listen to the noise to locate their buzzer, to then find it on my own.
The buzzer is located above the cabin lights above the drivers seat (center on the van, almost above the headrests.) i ended up taking the lights out then popping my hand up and fishing the buzzer out. Unfortunately the new one came with the wrong connector on so i did have to do some cutting and soldering so the job wasn't completely easy/problem free

Hope this help's someone in the future :D
