brake service wear

Postby skipoman » Tue Jun 02, 2020 9:29 am

Hi.I have had my 2.2 rwd 2014 plugged in and this comes up
c004a-13 brake lining wear sensor
c1d00-11 park brake apply switch
c004a-13-0a brake lining wear sensor

Have put new pads in rear and wires ok. Checked connection above rear axle. All fine. Front n/s has had wire sensor cut. I joined it together before it was plugged in and then cut it during plug in to see if it was that. Redone plug in test. Even unplugged o/s front thinking if I mimicked n/s to see what happened. Redone plug in test. All the same. Can I completley by pass the brake wear sensing system?
Any help appreciated.

My Transit 2014 Mk8 and I can't clear the service brakes warning.
I have 0v across the 2 wires at each of the 3 sensor location (NSF, NSR, OSR).
I earthed my tester then checked each wire with known earth and again 0v.
I dont know where the fuse is to check that.

Any suggestions?

My 2015 Mk8 is doing the same. Ive just renewed all the pads and sensors and still the warning light comes up. I'm now trying to test every wiring line to see if there is a fault somewhere. I assume there must be unless anyone has any ideas?

If its helps anyone. I set about testing my brake circuit continuity. The rear is easy to do as there is a connector to near the rear to test the back section. From there on it all appears to be one loom that collects ever more wires and heads into the engine bay. It passes up the left side (passenger side UK) and and terminates in a large grey connector with loads of wires, this then passes on elsewhere. The grey connector is located down just behind the headlamp assembly. I gave this connector a good waggle and my warnings went away! I had already changed all pads and the wear sensors, but at least I'm all safe and good to go.

That's all good info, and just what this thread needs, as no-one has been able to help before this.

Thanks for posting back, (on behalf of the next person that it helps) 8) :D
