Some people dont even notice the noise, like the guy that had owned my van from new.. So guess it depends who notices and goes out their way to find and fix it!?

It 100% fixed my noise.

the noise disappeared after replacing the pulley !!!!!!! I really had a doubt,
I advise you to replace it only in case of replacement of the belt because it is hard work, I put 13h !!!!!! , which is to risk in case of error, I had to buy at least 300euros of specific tool + 500euros of parts,
before the engine made like a bad crankshaft bearing

Good news.

Yes parts arent cheap and I also had to buy the specific timing tool which isnt cheap.

I still have it if anyone wants to buy it!

Looks like very helpful information here, I do have the same noise and would like to get this done, I may be interested to get those special tools from Gaz-M if you still have them.

Hi,
by any chance, don't you have a video / sound record of this noise ? I have similar issue on Galaxy 2018, 150HP Ecoblue engine.
Was it somewhat similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/B6NrXJnX_Sw

Cheers

Hi, I know it was a long time ago but do you recall what the tightening torque was for the bolt holding the idler pulley on?
My bolt snapped and the bottom pulley came loose stopping the engine, I've got it all apart but need the torque for the bolt.
Bolt HB1 in this diagram.
