Brake pedal will not move down

Postby Kev8117 » Fri Apr 30, 2021 9:43 pm

Good evening all I am new to this site

I have a 2l 67 plate long wheel base high top

I came off of the motorway the other day and the brake pedal would not go down at all well the most tiny amount,

Anyway I followed the vacuum line from the servo to the engine end and took it off there, with the engine idling the was no suction or blowing from that outlet

Two questions

Where is the vacuum produced is it a pump or inlet

If it is a pump how difficult is it to change?

Brake vac pump is on end of cylinder head, cam driven.
If it’s failed, don’t just fit a new one, highly likely it’s oil feed is blocked causing it to collapse inside.
If you fit a new one without checking or addressing this fault,it will do the same instantly.
