DPF problem help needed

Postby KevofCov » Wed Jul 07, 2021 8:23 pm

Van is a 2015 2.2 RWD (non adblue) LWB. 270,000 motorway miles, oil changed every 10,000 miles driven like a district nurse.
I have a DPF issue I suspect. Van is running normally but-
I have the following no. 1 and 2 dash messages, a yellow EML light and the red square when I start up.

After 10 minutes I get message 3 and the red light turns yellow.
The codes logged are

I have tried a static regen today but it stopped after 15mins and a message said that it could not continue. That’s as far as I’ve got. Any comments would be brilliant thanks

P244c temp to low. I would guess that there is an issue with the fuel vaporiser either blocked or partly.

If you drive it like a district nurse perhaps that's the problem, perhaps needs a thrashing ..... !

Thanks gents.

Today the problem went away. The only thing that I've done is to add a bottle of Tesco's Forecourt DPF cleaner (added to the full tank).
This may have postponed the issue. I will continue this thread as an aid to any peeps with the same issues. Will investigate more tomorrow with my Fordscan. :)

I'm going to be unbolting stuff tomoorrow. The red warning light still clears to yellow after 10 mins. Ive done live scans and the reading that concerns me is the soot level. It has increased from 131 on Friday to 168 today. Is this normal? Does it give a clue?

I working on the problem being either the vapouriser being blocked (can they be diy cleaned?) or it being a faulty sensor

Quick update.

Soot load is slowly climbing, now at 178..

I’m suspecting that I have a blocked DPF vapouriser. I disconnected the fuel feed to it at the pump and could not blow down it using a BIC pen.

Ordered one of these and I hope to remove the vaporiser tomorrow.

I believe that they can be cleaned of carbon using a blow lamp.
