Engine Service Now

mcbutler wrote:Had my jumbo Mk8 for around 7 months now and during that time I have had a recurring error appearing.

The notification I get whilst driving is in the photo, the van also goes into limp mode and 'hill start assist' is indicated as no longer available.

The problem invariably occurs over 50mph when going uphill and/or negotiating a left hand bend.

Error clears after engine restart

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Mine is doing similar, uphill and the left hand bend thing.

I have 2 Error codes P0045 and P00BD, the first being Boost control solenoid A circuit open and the latter is ( I believe ) MAF related.

Would be interesting to see if you had same error codes.

Update.... Been to see mechanic friend and he's found a hole in the intercooler hose ( right hand side under engine ).

It seems to have rubbed against the subframe and over time has produced a hole.

Hose on order, will update when fitted and tested.

Had this today with my 2015 350

Driving normally when amber service now message appears and goes in to limp mode, pulled over and switched off then re started and back to normal. Drove a further 70 miles with no problems, got home plugged reader in and no codes stored : /

Got three error codes - 3 glow plugs are open circuit, not too bothered about that

Posted photos below if anyone knows what they mean.

Have you visibly checked the boost pipes for any leaks? Do the indicators work?

Hi all,

Finally managed to creep underneath her today.
On the drivers side of the engine I discovered oil seepage from a hose that runs from the valve cover to the hose feeding air into the turbo (see photo) the hose is shielded with a thick corrugated foil like material.
Another oil leak is present where the turbo inlet hose has a short corrugated rubber hose connecting it to the turbo.

So your thoughts on the parts indicated with red arrows
And part numbers or names for the 2 hoses indicated by yellow arrows if possible

Thank you all for your help
