Slow and gutless mo8 2.2 rwd

Postby Yadmit » Tue Aug 31, 2021 7:43 pm

Hi
I recently bought a 2016 red dropside, with probably 30 miles on a re- manufactured engine new turbo intercooler clutch, injectors tested, starts perfect turns over and doesn’t miss a beat!
However it feels gutless and slow to respond to the throttle. First gear seems normal but every other gear take a few secounds to pick up and then it feels pretty slow, the dash tells me when to change up but seems to soon in my opinion as I soon have to drop it back down to get in any power range. I’ve noticed on hills it has to be dropped down also, I’ve probably not exceed 65mph in it yet as I’m running the engine in..
Any tips or help would be appreciated
Thank.

Is there a way to get it checked out to see if it has?
Also what’s the average mpg on this thing..

I did 99.6 mile on £20, from immediate start of reserve to immediate start of reserve.
I think that’s about 33mpg??

It may need to be run in to loose up.

What horsepower is it.

Mine was 125 which felt a bit weak. Got the speed limiter off it and lossened it up you might say. Goes well now prob 150.

I’m told it’s the 125 but struggling to find the engine number to check it’s the same engine with it being a remanufactured lump and all.
They could of just replaced it as I’ve seen before.
What’s your mpg looking like?

My 2.2 has always been gutless since new. I’ve lived with it because it doesn’t bother me. Should be ok up hills though. It could simply need a remap for power.
