Gear selector cables

Postby mcbutler » Tue May 03, 2022 1:43 pm

Hello all,

I have a stiff gear change - the front to back motion of the gearstick is fine for in and out of gear but the side to side movement of the gearstick through the gate is really stiff.
I need a new cable and I wondered if anyone had fitted these/are they easy/can you fit just one/Do they need any adjustment?/

Thanks in advance everyone ....

Take the cables off and feel the housing arm, very common for the bushes to seize.

OK will give that a go tomorrow, if the bushes are seized is their a fix or is it back in to the garage again?

The selector assy is easy enough to change its 3×13mm bolts and a 10mm nut. I am sure the bushes are not sold separately.
