Mk 8 Minibus Sliding Window Problem

My driver’s side sliding window started rattling today (the window next to rows 2&3). It looks like the clip has come out of the runner. Anyone have the knowledge of how to fix it?

The main problem I have is that, in the closed position, the pin isn't engaging correctly in the hole. I have to slam the window into the closed position as best I can, then push hard outwards to get it to properly engage (when it make a slight click as it engages).

I had the same issue on my crew cab. In my case it was caused by the weird pinch release thing being broken by the last owner. To be fair, the pinch release seems unnecessarily fiddly and fragile. I just changed out the sliding window pane with a replacement from a scrapyard minibus - it's a very easy job if you can find a replacement. Crew cab and minibus sliding panes are the same, except the minibus glass is slightly darker tint.
