P2564-00 Boost Sensor

Postby Discofever » Tue Aug 09, 2022 7:25 pm

Evening all, my mk8 decided to blow the turbo last week, 148,000 on the clock, sounded like I’d ran over a crisp packet, so I’ve been out and replaced the complete turbo inc actuator, I’ve also replaced the oil feed pipe and return pipe. Now here’s the fault, cleared all the codes and it’s coming up with P2564-00 Turbocharger boost control position sensor circuit low- current DTC warning lamp on

When the engine is running the boost sensor is saying 1.7volts and if I unplug it it says 5volt, I’ve cleaned it but still nothing, the Boost Pressure Actuator Output sits at 0.00%, do you think the pressure sensor is naffed.

Thank you all as it’s now doing my head in.

Morning all, so I’ve replaced the sensor and it’s still the same and I’m getting the same code, could be a wire failing to the sensor or turbo, here we go stripping that out.

That’s going to be a bad turbo actuator,or wiring to it.

Have you still got the old turbo or actuator ?
Where was the replacement unit from / what brand ?

Are you getting confused with the boost sensor ie MAP sensor ?

At the minute it’s pointing to the new turbo, it’s a recon unit from a motor spares place as Ford wanted £150 more.

Do you have access to FORSCAN, you'll need it to calibrate the new turbo actuator to the engine ECU, thats likely where your problem is if it has not been done.

Update, it was the actuator on the recon turbo, I took the van to a diesel specialist and they said it’s definitely the turbo actuator, I swapped the complete turbo and all is now good, well except for the van going into limp mode again, DPF was 212% full, one static regen later and all is good again
