Transit reliability questions

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct part of the forum but here goes. We are looking are purchasing a brand new camper van, it is on the Ford Transit cab and has the 170hp engine and 6 speed automatic gearbox. I see a lot of talk about injector and cambelt problems on motorhome pages with this van but it seems to be vans a few years old, have these problems been rectified, also any thoughts on the automatic gearbox?

Firsts units of the EcoBlue engine had some problems with injectors but those are solved now.

I've not heard of any issues with the automatic transmission (Mine is A/T too).

I'd only suggest changing the oil and filter before the 40000km Ford states and also use always the Ford spec compliant oil.

75k miles on my auto, no problems so far.

The issues you mention should have been ironed out by now. The cambelt part has been changed and the service intervals reduced.
All the noise about injectors (especially on campers) seems to have died down in recent years.

I have a 22 reg Transit Camper 170 and auto. 1,000 miles so far so good
